PetSitting When I take care of people's pets, I always consider how I would want my own to be cared for. An animal is much happier remaining in the comfort of a home environment versus being boarded in a kennel which contributes to higher levels of stress and anxiety. I receive consistent feedback from families about how relaxed and happy their pet is when they return from a weekend trip or a longer vacation.
Dog Walks I am available for both scheduled and "spontaneous/last minute" dog walking which can provide relief to you if something comes up whether it be a long day of work or a last minute errand you have to tend to.
Why I started Luv-A-Pup I have had a deep love for animals since childhood which was my intention for starting Luv-A-Pup Petsitting. I grew up with 2 cocker spaniels and a Springer Spaniel and I have a rescue dog named Tiny. I also have a HUGE love for cats and have had cats as family members for many years.
I began Luv-A-Pup PetSitting in 2000 when I lived in Central Massachusetts and have continued to pet-sit in the Pioneer Valley when I moved here in 2007. With my experience with animals, I have grown my understanding of what they are saying through their body language and their unique style of communicating. This has been useful when working with different animals since each has their own personality and distinct needs.
It is important to me that animals feel safe and loved while they're parents are away. I would only want the best for my own dog and that's how I approach what I do. Love is big on my list of what animals need when their family is away.
Free Initial Visit and Interview I understand that having someone visit your home to take care of your pet/s is an important decision to make. They are part of your family. I always include a free initial visit and interview so that you feel comfortable choosing the right person to care for your family member/s. In addition to taking care of dogs and cats, I tend to horses, birds, fish and chickens.
Dog Boarding in my home I board dogs in my cozy home in Hadley. I have trails right nearby my house and a beautiful open backyard with many fields that animals love to walk on and take in all the scents.
Dogs must be fully house-trained and never have accidents inside. They must be completely non-aggressive with other dogs. I don't board puppies in my home. Puppies generally do better with an overnight sitter with their regular routines in their own home.
